today is our first in this category. perhaps a bit of honesty is in order.
fridays are no longer fontalicious. gasp! i know. it's devastating for me too.
really. there was a time when i searched the internet for hours in search of the perfect font. sometimes the font was a harder selection than the paper. (don't even get me started on picking a font for the wedding invitations - and i wasn't even a scrapbooker back then...) i have hundreds of fonts. carefully selected and all with distinct purpose.
then came baby number two. and in came many more new fonts. girly fonts. things with curls. things with swirls. girly fonts. so many new girly fonts. a true cupcake salon of giddiness.
and then came baby number three. and there went my free time. did you see it? didn't think so. stolen so quickly with two people in diapers and double the ear infections and triple the hair pulling. (actually nigel didn't really pull poppy's hair, so perhaps it was infinity times infinity the hair pulling!!) i digress. suffice it to say that i am happy if i can get the photos downloaded, check my email and blog sporadically. i simply cannot search the fonts and align the borders (and the sun and the moon) and select the perfect line spacing. i did try. really. but what i mostly accomplished was a tall pile of layouts awaiting their journaling. and that does little to aid the self esteem of someone who loves the finished product as much as the journey.
so in my effort to "get real" (yikes, did i really just quote oprah? really? man, those writers REALLY need to come back to work....)(well, technically, i think the phrase belongs to dr phil, who is only owned and operated by oprah, so perhaps it's okay....whew!) i must admit that fontalicious fridays are going to take a vacation for a bit until my computer time increases (and a new version of wordperfect can be purchased and installed... oh yeah, that too!). so drumroll please...... introducing........
time travel thursdays!
thursdays will now be the day where we find a photo that has been lurking in our draw or box or jpeg collection for more than two years. thursdays are for remembering the stories that are still up there, perhaps just in a further recess of that beautiful mind of yours. thursdays are for my toddler nigel and for my infant poppy. (sorry, lavender) thursdays are to look back and remember and laugh or cry, whatever the story may be. so join me. go find an old photo and jump in! hooray one more memory captured!
